The
"Jobie-To-Bee" program is for young girls ages 9-10. The program allows
these girls, who aren't yet old enough to join a Bethel, to learn more about
Job's Daughters and the Bethel that they may one day join - and have some
fun!
As a
"Jobie-To-Bee," the girl will get to know the Daughters (who we usually just
call "Jobies") and adult Council members of their home hive (oops, that's
"Bethel"), so that by the time they turn 10 (old enough to join the Bethel)
they already know everyone and feel comfortable coming and participating in
Bethel activities. Jobie-To-Bees are typically invited to many Bethel "fun"
and other activities, as well as various special ceremonies and events
(including state wide events, on occasion) where they are recognized and
honored. Parent are invited and encouraged to attend too.
Jobie-To-Bees
are presented with a sash they can wear to Bethel activities, so that
everyone will know who they are. The "Queen Bee" (the program coordinator)
will get a sash and other additional information to the new Jobie-To-Bee as
soon as she receives the "Buzz" form (see below). Everyone is always eager
to meet and greet Jobie-To-Bees (easily spotted when they're wearing their
special sash) at Jobie functions and add stickers, pins, etc. to their
sashes.
Girls
can register to become a Jobie-To-Bee by filling out the
"The Buzz on the Jobie-To-Bees"
registration form, which is then sent to the "Queen Bee" (- the
Coordinator for the Jobie-To-Bee program ). The Queen Bee will
review the registration information and forward it to the Bethel Guardian
that the girl will be associated with. From that point on the Bethel
Guardian and Honored Queen should keep in contact with their Jobie-To-Bees
and keep them informed about upcoming events they may be invited to.
Since
the ultimate goal is to become a member of a Job's Daughters Bethel,
Jobie-To-Bees must have the proper Masonic relationship, as is required for
Bethel membership (though the Masonic relation doesn't need to verified
until her petition to join the Bethel is turn in when she's 10).
